In Remembrance of Lois

Kaleb and Lois, with MelodyIn May of 2011, we created this website to help support Kaleb and Lois when their only daughter Melody came into this world early---too early---at just 23 weeks. Since that day, Melody rightfully earned the nickname "Mighty" as she overcame impossible odds and many medical complications. On Oct 3, 2011 she was discharged from the hospital into the care of Kaleb and Lois at home weighing nearly 6lbs!

While we were still celebrating the health and homecoming of Melody on the evening of Tuesday October 11, Lois' health took a turn for the worse and deteriorated quickly. On Saturday, October 15 we mourned the loss of Melody's mommy, as with family and friends by her side, Lois passed away. Many of us were confused and struggled to understand these chain of events. Perhaps the only thing we can do to comprehend this with our hearts is to wrap our arms around Kaleb and Melody. Over and over, we can tell them they are loved by so many and by a "Mighty" God whose plan we can't always see, but we can always trust.

On Sept 27, 2011, Richard Potter interviewed Kaleb and Lois about their entire ordeal. It's an inspiring story about trust and faith in God.

This site and fund for Kaleb is now even more important than before. Melody continues to need special care and attention and frequent visits to the doctor. Her medical bill combined with Lois' have placed a huge financial burden on Kaleb. Bills must be paid to continue to allow Melody the best care possible.

You can help by praying. Pray for Kaleb. Pray for Lois' mom. Pray for Melody. You can help by making a financial donation to Kaleb via this fund. If you are not able to help financially, consider being a part of a care team being set up for the Ungers. Follow Mighty Melody on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/mightymelodyunger for info regarding other needs.
